Learn how to improve your flying changes and build more confidence in your tempi sequences.
Once you have mastered your single flying changes it’s time to build upon them. Check out our first article on how to do flying changes with Vanessa and today we are taking this further and discussing how to improve them and bring them into sequences that are seen here in New Zealand from advanced (level 6)

First let’s check-in and see how our changes are going and Vanessa likes to run through a check list with her horses before moving onto sequences.
Try this check list first with your horse.
How adjustable are they?
Try introducing leg yield in your canter to get the hind legs more through and supple.
Can you change speed easily within your canter?
Try forwards and back within canter and check your adjustability of the speed of your canter and your horses reaction to your aids.
Here is a snippet of Vanessa running through this check list.
Within Vanessa Way’s series ‘Mastering Your Dressage Movements’ she runs you through step by step how she works on changes with her horses.
See first hand what to expect, what commonly goes wrong, how to overcome obstacles and how to improve your marks during a dressage test.
We hope you find this useful. Get access to the full video plus over 4 hours of Vanessa’s teaching with her online training program ‘Mastering Your Dressage Movements.’
